The 8981A Vector Modulation Analyzer includes a calibrated baseband analyzer which connects to the I and Q outputs of your receiver's demodulator and adds a vector demodulator for IF measurements as well. It connects to the IF output of your transmitter and to the coherent reference. It measures signal magnitude and phase of standard digital communication and radar signals. The instrument performs constellation analysis of quadrature error, lock angle error and closure. The design provides for quick, visual, intuitive measurements as well as giving quantitative data about a signal's modulation. These features allow a user to quickly identify problem sources and measure their magnitude.

HP 11748A Active Probe Set provides three 1 M Ohms 250 MHz BNC inputs for an HP Vector analyzer. HP Vector analyzers have special outlets from which the Active Probe Set is powered. Within the Active Probe set case are three, 1M ohms probe pods. Two probe pods provide I and Q signal inputs. A third probe pod provides an external trigger source. Each of the probe pods come with an HP 10435A 10:1 probe tip assembly and a bag of probe accessories.
The unit was just calibrated. Date Due 02/16/09. The unit is in great cosmetic condition with a small scratch here or there. The analyzer has 2 back feet missing. All buttons, knobs, and switches are good and intact. The serial # is 2841A00360. Works with 120 & 240 voltage. If the calibration is more than 5 months old, we will re-calibrate the unit. We always re-check the item before we ship it. This makes sure the item is working when it left my shop.
